What We Believe

We look forward to the opportunities to bring our mission statement to fruition.

We see our future in our present ministry that “For the love of God we will continue to grow in worship, nurture, service, witness, and celebration of the cross and resurrection – of the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives.”

In the loving embrace of Jesus,
Pastor Paul Wheeler

All Are Welcome

In the paragraph that follows and within our worship every Sunday we offer this or a similar prayer within the Prayers of the Church. We affirm and say “YES” to God’s welcome and our welcome of all, those seeking and searching and those grounded in this journey of faith. Lutheranism focuses on the grace of God…. the unconditional love we receive in the cross of Christ. Wherever you are on your journey then please know you are welcome to journey with us in the presence of Jesus love for all.

THE PRAYER:
Even when we experience rejection your love invites us to new life. Lift up anyone who feels shunned or excluded on account of their race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, or any other human distinction. Make your people one. Merciful God, receive our prayer.

Continue in the Word

At the heart of our ministry is the Word of God. Through education and nurture, preaching and worship, we are encouraged to study the Word. We welcome you to grow with us in the knowledge of that Word which comes to us in Scripture and in the person of Jesus Christ. As Jesus says in the Gospel of John: “If you continue in my Word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8: 31-32

Serve Together

Serving the Church, the community, and all of creation; reaching out to all to fulfill the needs before us is not a “have to.” Serving is to share with others what we have been given in the grace, mercy and justice of God. When there is a material, economic, spiritual, or emotional need, we seek God’s guidance to meet the needs of the other. The words of the prophet Micah ring true in our serving: “God has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
— John 12:26
